Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: The Alaska Private and Home Educators Association Convention is coming to your area on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16. This event will be held at the Alaska State Fairgrounds, Raven Hall, 2075 Glenn Highway, Palmer, AK 99645-6799. J. Michael Smith, HSLDA President, will be in attendance, speaking on the following topics: > "Remembering the Reason, Renewing the Vision" > "Homeschooling and Parental Rights--Freedom Under Fire" > "The Angry Child: What Ticks Johnny Off" > "Homeschooling Through Hard Times--How Can We Afford to Homeschool?" In addition, his wife Elizabeth Smith will speak on these topics: > "Getting Them Ready to Learn and to Love It" > "Five Essential Ingredients to Successful Homeschooling" > "Ten Reasons to Homeschool Teens" Also, HSLDA will also host a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card at the end of the conference.
