Abuse Report Recommends Supervising Homeschoolers A special panel investigating the horrific allegations of abuse and neglect of two adopted children in Florida recently released their recommendations. At least two of these could have a major impact on homeschooling families, possibly triggering extra scrutiny by state officials. Congress Introduces Legislation to Make Intrusive Survey Optional HSLDA has long been concerned about the level of personal information collected and the invasiveness of the American Community Survey. If you share this concern, we urge you to contact your U.S. representative about a bill that would make most of the questions on the survey optional. South Dakota: Individual Homeschool "Approval" Requirement Repealed South Dakota's governor has signed a bill repealing an archaic state law that prohibited families from homeschooling their children until the local school board individually approved each family. Revised support group directory can now include any group, not just HSLDA Discount Groups!
