====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Florida Legislature in Session Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, The 2011 Florida Legislative Session is now underway. Throughout the session, March 8-May 6, 2011, HSLDA will be reviewing legislation to determine whether to support or oppose bills affecting Florida homeschoolers. We have already identified several relevant bills. House Memorial 557 and Senate Memorial 954 are parental rights amendments that we are supporting. We are opposing House Bill 773, which relates to terminating parental rights. In addition, House Bill 797 and Senate Bill 1000 allow private school students to participate in public school sports.
