====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 25, 2011 Vermont--Proposed Changes to Homeschool Law Dear HSLDA members and friends, HSLDA has been made aware of an attempt to make statutory changes to the Vermont homeschool law. The proposed changes appear to include both positive and negative provisions. While parents would no longer be required to submit a minimum course of study and information regarding a child's learning disability, the proposal would require mandatory standardized testing every year. HSLDA is working with Retta Dunlap, Vermonters for Better Education, and the Vermont Home Education Network (VHEN) to closely monitor these potential changes. We will keep you informed. Please stay tuned for future email updates, and visit our website at http://hslda.org/vt for more information on these changes. Thank you for your readiness to defend homeschool freedom in Vermont. It is a privilege to serve you! Very truly yours, Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
