Seminar Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: You are invited to a one-day training session specifically for parents of toddlers to 'tweens (preschool through through 8th grade) and struggling learners. "Teaching at Home: Basics and Beyond" is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Patrick Henry College, Purcellville, Virginia. The seminar's two tracks include four general sessions and 12 workshops, plus Q&A sessions. Be equipped and encouraged by special needs coordinators Faith Berens, Dianne Craft, and Betty Statnick, as well as early years coordinator Vicki Bentley, staff attorney Mike Donnelly, and veteran homeschool mom Tracy Klicka. Topics include time management, identifying learning glitches, apprenticeship, multi-level teaching, burnout, high school for struggling learners, organization, curriculum, auditory processing dysfunctions, ADD, ASD, and more--plus a workshop just for dads!
