---[ Family Economics Conference 2011 ]-------------------------------

It's time to get a vision for biblical family-based economics, now,
before it's too late. A wise man builds his systems on the rock. But
foolish men built our economic and social structures on the sand, and
now look at what's happening! FEC 2011 will prepare your family to
thrive during social and economic decline.

1. Missouri: First State Allows Parent-Issued Work Certificates

In an exciting nationwide first, Missouri now allows parents to issue
work certificates for their own children if they follow certain
requirements.

.....................................................................
2. JOGO--Join for One Year, Get One Free!

For two weeks only, new members can join for one year and receive a
second year free. That's two years of expert legal protection for
your homeschool--along with all the other excellent benefits HSLDA
offers--for far less than you would pay for just one hour of an
attorney's time anywhere else! This offer is only available November
8-22, 2010, for families that have not been members of HSLDA for the
last six months.

.....................................................................
3. Finland: Nordic Neighbors Differ on Key Human Rights Issue

The response of Nordic governments to homeschoolers within their
borders offers a sobering contrast: Finland explicitly encourages
homeschooling, while Sweden represses it and even persecutes parents
who choose to educate their children at home.

http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=9587

.....................................................................
4. California: Morongo District Sales Pitch Includes Veiled Threat

A school district letter to homeschoolers offers
public-school-at-home-services, but only after first mentioning
procedures for investigating home educators.

Read more about it at:
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=9588

.....................................................................
5. Missouri: Baptist College Drops GED Demand

Because of a misunderstanding about federal law, a Missouri college
slammed the door on a homeschool graduate, but HSLDA helped push the
door wide open again.

Read more about it at:
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=9589

.....................................................................
6. Parental Rights: Encouraging Election

Though much work remains in the battle to protect parental rights, the
results of the recent election offer reason to hope. When the 112th
Congress convenes in January, we will have 156 supporters of the
Parental Rights Amendment.

Read more about it at:
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=9590

.....................................................................
7. Home School Foundation: Combined Federal Campaign Donations

You may not know that the Home School Foundation is a qualified
charity for the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC No. 10535). If you are
looking for a charity to designate donations for CFC or perhaps know a
military or government family who would be interested, we hope you
will consider the Home School Foundation for the current campaign and
even pass the word along to others. The number of homeschool families
applying to us for help grows every year, and it is only through
donations from compassionate homeschooling families that we are able
to help them.

Read more about it at:
http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=9591

.....................................................................
8. Seasonal Savings on Cookbook

From now until December 17, receive $5.00 off the regular price of
each cookbook when you buy two or more copies of "Family Favorites
from the Homeschool Kitchen"! The delicious, timesaving recipes will
add sparkle to your holiday table and someone else's. Cookbooks arrive
