====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== August 3, 2010 New Hampshire--Reminder: Annual Notice Due to Participating Agency Dear HSLDA Members, This is a reminder for those of you continuing to homeschool under New Hampshire homeschool law that your child's annual notice is due to your participating agency by the first day of school in your resident district. According to New Hampshire law, a parent must file an annual notice with a "participating agency"--either the commissioner of education (not recommended), district superintendent, or principal of a non-public school (recommended). This notice must include the children's names, addresses and birth dates. If your child has completed a home school program at the high school level and is under age 18 please see our legal analysis for information on how to document this fact. To view HSLDA's notice of intent form for members, a list of New Hampshire private schools willing to serve homeschoolers as participating agencies, or more information on homeschooling in New Hampshire visit: www.hslda.org/nh Additionally, we are pleased to inform you that the Board of Education's review of the home education rules, about which we have been informing you, is now officially complete. Thanks to the efforts of homeschoolers across the state, there were no negative changes. You can view the updated version of the rules here: http://www.education.nh.gov/legislation/ed315.htm I hope the upcoming school year is a successful one! Very truly yours, Michael P. Donnelly, Esq. HSLDA Staff Attorney ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Have you ever yelled into the wind, only to hear the sound of your voice blown back at you? It's hard to be heard in the midst of a storm. Trying to influence federal legislation is much like yelling to be heard while standing in a fierce wind. Yet when 80,000 voices join together, they become a powerful force that cannot be drowned out. Join HSLDA to be heard above the tempests that threaten homeschool freedoms.
