====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Florida--We Hope to See You at the Florida Parent-Educators Association Homeschool Convention Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: This weekend the Florida Parent-Educators Association Homeschool Convention will be in Orlando on May 27-29. This convention is the largest homeschool event on the East Coast and will be held at the Shingle Creek Conference Center at 9939 Universal Blvd. in Orlando, FL 32819. There will be several great speakers at the convention including Dianne Craft, one of HSLDA's special needs coordinator. Diane will be speaking on the following topics: > "Identifying and Correcting Blocked Learning Gates" > "Is Dysgraphia Holding My Child Back?" > "Train Your Child's Photographic Memory" Tracy Klicka will also be speaking at the FPEA Convention. Tracy is the widow of Chris Klicka, who was senior counsel for the Home School Legal Defense Association for over 20 years. Married 21 years, they were blessed with seven children, whom they homeschooled since their birth. Through many trials over the years (including the near-death of their twins during pregnancy and Chris' struggles with multiple sclerosis), Tracy has learned firsthand what walking by faith is all about. HSLDA Staff Attorney Thomas (Tj) Schmidt will also be at the convention speaking on "Home Education and the Obama Administration: National Issues Affecting our Freedom."
