1. Farris Criticizes Use of International Law in Supreme Court
Decision

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled that it is unconstitutional for the
United States to sentence juvenile offenders to life in prison without
parole in non-homicide cases. The Court cited the UN Convention on the
Rights of the Child and other international law to buttress its
constitutional interpretation.

2. Petition German Parliament to Allow Homeschooling

Signatures are being collected on a petition to the German Bundestag
to request that the German federal parliament take up the matter of
legalizing homeschooling. HSLDA urges members to sign today.

4. Home School Foundation: Thanks from Single Mom & Daughters

"I have always felt that it was God's will for me to homeschool my
children. However, as a single parent, I have faced many challenges
and opposition," a mother wrote the Foundation recently after we

8. Youth Competition Focuses on Constitution

"We the People 9*17" offers children in grades K-12 the opportunity to
submit a cool song, entertaining short film, public service
announcement, holiday card, poem, or essay that presents the theme,
"How the United States Constitution is relevant today." Entries are
due, fittingly enough, by July 4, 2010.

9. Limited Bible Bee Host Territories Available

Thinking about hosting a Bible Bee? All of the guidance and materials
you need will be supplied. One returning host told The Tampa Tribune,
"It's so user-friendly this year. We've already received a lot of
backup materials, and every contestant will get a personal box with a
Bible, a study guide and cards. Now I'm excited about participating
again; I know how much the kids got out of taking part in this. "
