Arizona--Register Early to Attend the
AFHE Home Educators' Convention and Save!

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends;

If you haven't already made your plans to attend the 27th Annual
Arizona Home Educators' Convention & Curriculum Fair, now is the time
to do it! This year the convention will be held July 23-24 at the
Phoenix Convention Center. If you register by June 23, you will save
50% off the price at the door and be able to renew your Arizona
Families for Home Education (AFHE) membership all at the same time.
You can either mail in your registration form or go online to
register. For more information go to: .

If you have never been to the AFHE Convention, you don't want to miss
out on your opportunity to spend a great weekend full of inspiration
and encouragement all about home education. Just a few of the
highlights of this two-day convention are:

> Speakers: A variety of speakers and workshops for new and veteran
homeschoolers alike.
> Exhibit Hall: Browse and shop the vast array of curricula and
resource vendors. Save on shipping at most booths!
> Mentoring Moms Booth: Experienced homeschooling moms available to
answer questions.
> Teen Track: A series of workshops geared especially for youth age 12
and older.
> Exhibitor Workshops: Taught by exhibitors with information about
their products or services.
> Friends: See old friends and make new ones.
> Goody Bags: Filled with brochures, catalogs, and pamphlets from a
wide variety of companies and services for homeschoolers.

This year the keynote speakers are Michael Farris and Carol Barnier.
Other featured speakers are Zan and Joe Tyler, Dianne Craft, Andrew
Pudewa, and Adams Andrews. For a list of all of the speakers go to: .

Attend the convention for FREE! If you, or someone you know, only has
preschool age children and are interested in home education, you could
be able to attend the AFHE Convention for free! To participate,
parents must meet the following requirements:

1. Oldest child cannot be older than 5 years of age.
2. Must have never attended an AFHE homeschool convention before.

Send an email to to request the special
registration form for the Parents of Preschoolers Free Admission
program. This is a great way for young families to come to a
convention and learn more about parent-led, family-funded,
relationship-based home education. Registration by June 23 is
required. If you know of a family who might fit these requirements
please feel free to forward this information to them.

It is vitally important that the homeschool community in Arizona
remain strong and vibrant to ensure that homeschool freedoms are
protected. Arizona is a great state to homeschool in, but we need to
be vigilant to keep it that way. Without the leadership and support of
a statewide homeschool support network like AFHE, the homeschool
freedoms in Arizona could suffer from complacency or even a full scale
attack on our right to teach our children at home.

When you come to the AFHE Convention be sure and stop by the Home
School Legal Defense Association table at Booth 709 and say "Hi." As a
special bonus at the AFHE Convention, we have two special offers for

> If you join or renew your membership at the conference for one year,
you'll receive a $10 coupon that you can use toward your membership
(at the conference only) or for purchasing any of our materials. Or...

> Renew or join for two years and receive either a $25 coupon that you
can use toward your membership (at the conference only) or get the
Drive Thru History Greece/Rome DVD set for FREE. Please visit for more information.

If you are not yet an HSLDA member or know someone else who might be
interested in joining, these same offers are available for families
who join at the conference.

Your attendance at the 27th Annual AFHE Convention will refresh you
and your family in your homeschooling endeavors while also supporting
AFHE in their service to the homeschool community. Please plan now to
attend the Phoenix Convention Center July 23-24 for this exciting
homeschool conference.
