Next week on HSLDA's @home e-vents... Lasting dreams and aspirations for the future don't come in a textbook--they come from an education that cultivates a servant heart for others. On Tuesday, May 11, @ 9:00 p.m. (ET), homeschooling mother and veteran volunteer Billie Jo Youmans explores the benefits of "Growing Hearts & Minds through Service Learning." Billie Jo shares spiritual and academic considerations as you implement this approach in your homeschool, helping you discover how your students can achieve learning objectives, acquire core skills, and enhance their educational portfolio through service learning! Have you ever had a war break out in the middle of history or had a math lesson last three hours? If you have boys in the house, you probably have! Join Hal and Melanie Young on Thursday, May 13, @ 9:00 p.m. (ET) for "Ballistic Homeschooling: Teaching and Appreciating Boys," a time of encouragement and inspiration as you face the challenges and blessings that come with teaching boys. Come hear the Youngs, who have taught six boys at one time (from kindergarten through 12th grade), share how to turn wiggle worms into scholars! On Tuesday next week, we have a free, exclusive e-vent for our members! Join HSLDA attorney Dewitt (Dee) Black on Tuesday, May 11, @ 11:00 a.m. (ET) for "Home Instruction in North Dakota."
