3. Alabama: School District Adds to Private Tutor Requirements

Earlier this school semester, HSLDA assisted a parent in Birmingham
when Shelby County Schools attempted to add to the private tutor
requirements of state law.

4. Michigan: Intermediate School District Seeks Completion of Form

HSLDA assisted a member family after the local public school
truancy/attendance officer requested they submit a document not
required by state law.

5. South Dakota: State Drops Demand for Pre-Approval of Tests

When a state education official made an unlawful demand concerning

6. Local Hosts Needed for 2010 National Bible Bee

The Shelby Kennedy Foundation is launching the 2010 National Bible Bee
with a redesigned format, fresh look, and new leadership. Those who
share the Bible Bee's vision for encouraging parents to disciple their
children through in-depth Bible study, Scripture memorization, and
prayer should consider volunteering to host a Local Bible Bee Contest
in their region.
