Thanks to your efforts, the State Board of Education ("BOE") has decided to postpone its final decision on changes to the home education rules. The BOE stated today that they support home education in New Hampshire. The Commissioner Barry noted in a statement to the Board that she did not support the final proposed changes and would work with her staff and members of the Board and the Home Education Advisory Council (HEAC) over the next few weeks to propose a final version of the rules that closely conforms to the proposal submitted by HEAC. It is expected that the Board will consider this version at their meeting next month. HSLDA would like to thank all those who called, emailed, and attended the rally today.
