====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== January 29, 2010 West Virginia--Increase in Compulsory Attendance Age Proposed Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: The West Virginia Legislature is now in session. HSLDA is working closely with CHEWV and other local organizations to advocate on behalf of homeschoolers and it is our desire to keep you informed. We are currently tracking several bills that would increase the compulsory attendance age from 16 to either 17 or 18. This would increase government regulation over homeschoolers and require reporting for 1 or 2 more years. We are also tracking HB 3233, a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which we support.
