New Hampshire: House Set to Pass Draconian Law

Dear New Hampshire Members and Friends:

Live reports from homeschoolers at the New Hampshire State House today
are painting a potentially grim picture. Reports indicate that the
House Democratic caucus may have taken a position in support of
amending HB 368. Because democrats control the House, it is possible
that HB 368 may pass as amended. In previous e-lerts we have told you
how onerous HB 368 is and how it would make New Hampshire's homeschool
law among the most restrictive in the country.

The House is scheduled to take up HB 368 in the next hour or so. This
debate can be watched by going to:
http://gencourt.state.nh.us/house/media/HouseLivevideo.asx . It is
possible, however, that the House may postpone the vote if they are
unable to get to it today.

By watching, you will be able to witness the debate and be better
prepared to respond if HB 368 is passed on to the Senate in amended
form. HSLDA is gravely concerned about this legislation. Although
passage in the House would result in referral to the Senate where we
could fight the bill further, HB 368 passing today would be a
significant loss in the battle for freedom for homeschoolers in the
Granite State.

If you are able to communicate with your representative please call,
text, or email them to vote ITL on HB 368.

Thank you for your commitment to defending freedom for homeschooling
in New Hampshire.

Standing with you,

Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
Staff Attorney

-> Can you look at the clouds and tell the direction of the wind?

An interesting phenomenon of wind is that it can blow in multiple
directions at the same time, at different heights from the ground.
But usually there is a prevailing wind. HSLDA watches the gusts
and monitors the prevailing trends of change in the legal climate
of home education. So no matter which way the wind is blowing,
we're there to protect your family.
