Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: HSLDA has worked closely with National Driver Training to facilitate homeschool friendly driver education laws in Colorado. We are pleased to make you aware of a very generous scholarship program that has been arranged through the Driver Training Institute with support from Mountain States Electric for homeschool students who live in Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, or Kremmling. The offer includes 30 hours of state approved in-class driver education and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a certified instructor. The $495.00 per student fee will be paid for by Mountain States Electric and National Driver Training. The program includes the state test for a learner's permit and insurance certificates for insurance discounts. Parents are invited and encouraged to ride along during behind-the-wheel training. Parents may elect to have their students complete the 30 hours of in-class education at home, however, the in-home instruction program is not included as part of the scholarship. Classes are set up in 10 three-hour sessions at Middle Park High School in Granby or West Grand High School in Kremmling. They start February 22, 2010.
