New Hampshire--Your Presence Needed
to Defend Against Harmful Laws and Rules!

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,

The New Hampshire House Education Committee has rescheduled its
executive session regarding its study of the homeschool law FROM
December 1, 2009 TO November 19, at 10:00 a.m. in LOB 207. It is
expected that at this meeting the committee will discuss and vote on
recommendations. Also, the "Definitions" Subcommittee work session
has been scheduled for November 10 at 1:00 in LOB 207.

If you are able, we encourage you to attend these work sessions, but
more important is the executive session. Your continued presence at
these meetings is being noticed and shows that homeschoolers are
willing to stand up for their freedoms.

We are also asking as many homeschoolers as possible to be prepared to
attend the State Board of Education's public hearing on the Department
of Education's proposed rules for ED 315--scheduled for December 9.
We remain hopeful that the rules submitted by the department (which
are different from those proposed by the HEAC) will be either
withdrawn or substituted for those approved by the HEAC.
Nevertheless, we believe it is best to be prepared to vigorously
defend our freedoms against potentially harmful regulations. The
deadline for written comments is December 23. We are not asking for
any action at this time, as homeschool leaders are working with the
department to clarify the confusion around the submission of rules
that are different from the rules recommended by the HEAC.

Thank you for continuing to help defend the cause of freedom in New

Very truly yours,

Michael P. Donnelly, Esq.
