====================================================================== H S L D A ' s W E E K L Y U P D A T E ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> How many acorns can a chipmunk hold in its cheeks? We don't know! But we do know that gathering little by little enables ordinary folks to prepare for hard times. That principle is behind HSLDA's payment plan: by paying a month at a time, families can receive an annual HSLDA membership. Meanwhile, they can feel secure as they homeschool and focus on other priorities -- their children. Don't go nuts trying to pay for membership all at once. Choose one of our convenient payment plans. Next Week on HSLDA's @home e-vents... The holiday season is fast approaching! Do you struggle to keep your students on track with their studies during this time of year? Would you like to transform those hard-to-manage, informal days of study into a productive time of educational and service opportunities? From history to literature and music, the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays offer a vast array of lessons that don't require a textbook! Come hear author, speaker, and homeschool mom Zan Tyler on Tuesday, November 10, at 9:00 p.m. (ET), and unwrap the daily lessons just waiting to be discovered by your family! Find the juncture between education and celebration in the holidays, and help your children learn and promote the deeper reasons for the season. Later in the week, find encouragement for the difficult challenges of parenting a son or daughter who is doubting their faith or who utterly rejects your family's beliefs. Maybe you're convinced that you've failed . . . and the state of this child's heart is weighing heavily on you and your spouse. Join author, speaker, and homeschool mom Carol Barnier on Thursday, November 12 at 9:00 p.m. (ET), as she shares her own journey away from and back to her faith after 13 years as an atheist. In this webinar, you'll hear thoughts from inside the mind of a lost child. With warmth and wisdom, Carol will share the best thing you can do for your child and for yourself. Come and find an understanding heart that hurts and rejoices along with you. There is still space for you to join these e-vents--sign up now to reserve your "seat"!
