====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Maine--SAD 40 Unlawfully Demands Return of Form Dear HSLDA Maine Members: School Administrative District 40 on September 16 sent a letter to homeschool families demanding that they return a form stating whether they would participate in a local vaccination program. There is no law that authorizes them to make this demand. You should feel free to ignore it--unless, of course, you want your children to participate in the program. Another letter implied that there were new testing requirements for homeschoolers. The homeschool law has not changed. While the procedures for a family to participate in the various types of testing offered through the public schools may change from time to time, there has been no change in what your obligations are under state law.
