====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== September 25, 2009 Indiana--Announcing the 2009 Map Your Future Event Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: The Indiana Foundation for Home Schooling invites you to Map Your Future, a high school, college, and career planning day for 7th-12th grade homeschoolers and their parents. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., October 16, 2009 at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214. HSLDA High School Coordinators Becky Cooke and Diane Kummer will be guest speakers, teaching many sessions including "Building on a Sure Foundation--Staying the Course through High School," "Developing a Four-Year Plan," "High School Transcript Clinic: Practical Help and Tips," "The College Admissions Process: The Homeschooled Student's Guide," and "Extracurricular Activities to Jazz Up Your High School Program." There will also be local presenters offering over 20 other break-out sessions--some for teens, some for parents. Event planners expect about 25 colleges and 10 support organizations to participate in the morning expo fair. A Chick-fil-A lunch will be available on site, since the day will be full of informative guidance. Teens will enjoy the sessions, talking with college admissions staff, the great prize giveaways from the exhibitors and a chance to win one of three $1,000 scholarships provided by USA Funds! Also, the 2010 Statewide Graduation Ceremony meeting is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is $20 per family if you sign up online by October 11. Registration at the door will be $30 per family.
