====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== August 18, 2009 Minnesota: Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to Hold Education Event in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District Dear HSLDA Members, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-6) is a strong friend and advocate of homeschoolers. She is holding an event for educators in her district office on Wednesday, August 26. Please feel free to attend if you are able. The workshop is for teachers, school administrators, and PTA leaders from Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District to learn about the various resources available to schools through the Library of Congress and Smithsonian. Cheryl Lederle-Ensign, an educational resource specialist at the Library of Congress, and Stephanie Norby from the Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies, will provide information about the numerous resources available to both teachers and students including professional development, access to primary sources, virtual conferences, virtual museum access, and various online tutorials and activities, which are all free of charge. The event is from 10:30-12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the congresswoman's Woodbury District Office, 6043 Hudson Road, Suite 330, Woodbury, MN 55125.
