Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, Tomorrow, June 9, at 3:30, the New Hampshire Home Education Advisory Council (HEAC) will meet to discuss questions to be included in a survey that will be sent to public school superintendents. This meeting is open to the public. A strong presence of homeschoolers would be tremendously helpful since the results of the survey could have an impact on New Hampshire homeschool laws. ACTION REQUESTED If possible, please continue to show your support for homeschool freedom in New Hampshire by attending the HEAC meeting tomorrow. For directions to the Department of Education please visit: http://www.ed.state.nh.us/education/contactus.htm BACKGROUND The survey is being developed at the request of a legislative subcommittee. The survey will include the types of interactions between public school superintendents and homeschool families. While HEAC and homeschoolers do not have final control over the questions in the survey, input at this preliminary stage may be helpful as its development progresses. Roberta Tenney, the Department of Education's representative on HEAC, has drafted questions to include in the survey. HEAC will respond to her draft tomorrow.
