|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home School Foundation Report ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Friends of the Home School Foundation, This fiscal year, the Lord blessed the Home School Foundation with $124,000 more than last year. This is a huge testimony given the country's current economic turbulence. People are still giving and, through the Foundation, more and more homeschoolers are receiving help to train their children. Thank you for partnering with us during these times and being a part of the Lord's work in the homeschooling community. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Because You Helped Each one who has prayed and/or given is a part of the blessings. Here are just a few notes from grateful homeschooling parents that testify to the power of your gifts: A homeschooling widow writes: Thank you very much for the curriculum money. I put it into my account right away and was able to order my children's curriculum for the fall. They are very excited about their schedule for the fall. The amount for everything came to almost the exact amount you sent. How I praise and thank the Lord and rejoice in his kindness to the widows and fatherless. It has been very difficult even though it has been two years since my husband's death--we miss him tremendously. The highlight of my children's day is doing school. So thank you for bringing hope and encouragement to my children. -- Rebecca M. Another homeschooling widow we have helped for years wrote us: I need to let you know that by God's grace and your faithful help, I will be graduating my youngest child within the next month. Your special help to our family after my husband died 17 years ago has been immeasurable. We are grateful for the Christmas gifts which you have sent, the HSLDA membership, the cookbook we received last year, and especially for the help in purchasing curriculum. Thanks to you, I did not feel so alone; you greatly lifted my burden. -- Karen H. A mother homeschooling her special needs children wrote: Thank you for your very generous grant for my children. This award will allow them to receive some very much needed speech and language therapy. Thank you for giving them this opportunity to improve their speech and communication skills. I expect great things from their therapy sessions. -- Diane B. A homeschool grad who received our PHC Scholarship for HSLDA Members said: I am so thankful! Every day I have been worrying about how I will pay for my first semester at Patrick Henry College. The PHC Scholarship is a blessing beyond any description. I am forever grateful to those who donated the money. -- Jared M. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Give the Homeschool Cookbook: Family Favorites from the Homeschool Kitchen Filled with mouth-watering recipes and heartwarming stories from homeschooling cooks of all ages, "Family Favorites from the Homeschool Kitchen" will brighten your kitchen and delight your family for years to come. You can purchase the cookbook for yourself, a loved one, and/or make a donation of one to a homeschooling widow the Home School Foundation assists. We have received several letters of thanks from some of the widows who received a cookbook and it is a joy to see how much such a simple token can encourage someone. One widow said: I just wanted to send a note of thanks for the homeschool cookbook I received through the generosity of the Homeschool Foundation. What a wonderful surprise! It brought tears to my eyes reminding me of how my late husband would often surprise me with gifts and tokens of his love and appreciation. You couldn't possibly know how much things like this mean to me. In the world as it is today, it helps keep my faith in mankind. HSLDA and the Homeschool Foundation are truly a blessing to our family! Proceeds from the cookbook will go to the Foundation. So you can discover new dishes, enjoy the delightful stories, and help needy homeschoolers at the same time.
