Poetry Contest Now Accepting Entries HSLDA's 2009 student poetry contest is accepting entries through June 1. There are three categories divided by age, each with its own theme. Entries must follow a specific form. As in the past, winners will be awarded cash prizes and will have their poems published on HSLDA's website. Bible Bee Enrollment Deadline Extended Due to the overwhelming nationwide response to the 2009 National Bible Bee, the deadline for enrolling in this year's inaugural competition has been extended to May 15, 2009. Bible Bee Headquarters reports that 10,000 contestants have already enrolled and that hundreds of contestants are signing up each day! Call for Parent to Parent Submissions Have you ever had an inspiring thought, an ingenious shortcut, or an "Aha! moment" that you wished you could share with other homeschoolers? Well, now you can! The Home School Court Report's Parent to Parent column provides opportunities for homeschooling parents to relay teaching tips, encouragement, and advice. Project Manager Position Open Applications are being accepted for someone to manage joint projects between HSLDA and Patrick Henry College. The ideal candidate will have a heart for homeschooling, a desire to facilitate high achievement, and the ability to create and implement a business plan. The project manager will report directly to Michael Farris. Salary depends on experience. A "retired" homeschooling mom might be ideal for this position. A college degree is desired. Work for this position must be conducted onsite in Purcellville, VA, and telecommuting is not an option.
