====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 13, 2009 New Hampshire--THANK YOU for a Record-Breaking Turnout at Public Hearing to Preserve Homeschool Freedom! Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, The crowd of over one thousand homeschoolers that gathered at the State House Wednesday for hearings on House Bill 367 and 368 was the largest in recent memory. And it sent a clear message to the Education Committee that homeschoolers are united and opposed to any changes to the current rules or regulations. We will know in the coming weeks whether the bill will be recommended "Inexpedient to Legislate" (ITL) or "Ought to Pass" (OTP), at which time HSLDA will communicate to ask for further action. For now, HSLDA will continue to monitor the legislation and keep you informed. We are grateful to all of our members who came to the Capitol on Wednesday. Thanks also to the many organizations and supporters of homeschoolers throughout New Hampshire, including Christian Home Educators of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Homeschool Coalition. We are privileged to serve such freedom-loving people, who are committed to making the sacrifices necessary to keep homeschooling free from unnecessary government regulation.
