====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 9, 2009 New Hampshire--Attend Cornerstone Policy Research Press Conference Before Homeschool Hearings on February 11 Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: Thank you for all of your calls to the Education Committee to oppose additional regulation of New Hampshire homeschoolers. Your calls and emails are sending a clear message that New Hampshire homeschoolers are united in their opposition to ANY change in the current regulations for homeschoolers. There are other organizations that are standing with New Hampshire homeschoolers for liberty and parents' rights to educate their children without unreasonable interference from the state. One of these groups is Cornerstone Policy Research ("CPR"). CPR is a New Hampshire family policy council that is working hard to stand for the traditional family and notions of parents' rights, on which our own fundamental right to homeschool is based. CPR officially opposes H.B. 367 and 368 and has been spreading the message that these bills are unnecessary and would interfere with the right of parents to homeschool without unreasonable interference from the state. CPR is holding a press conference at 12:30 on Wednesday, February 11, in the Legislative Office Building (right behind the Capitol). CPR has asked that New Hampshire families come to stand with them. If you are able, please stop by the CPR press conference to show your support on February 11 before coming to Representative's Hall. For more information about CPR and the issues they are championing, please their website at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=6082 Sincerely, Michael P. Donnelly, Esq. HSLDA Staff Attorney ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances... Most homeschools don't need an extreme makeover, but there is something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of accomplishments. Watch the media and you'll soon see that not everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good. HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators so it's obvious that we don't need someone "making-over" our homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we're fine as we are . . . thank you!
