Indiana--Come to the Homeschool Day at the Capitol!
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:
One of the best ways that you and your family can help protect homeschooling freedom is to come and participate in Homeschool Day at the Capitol. This event, sponsored by the Indiana Association of Home Educators, provides an excellent opportunity for Indiana legislators to see what homeschooling is all about. This year, the Homeschool Day at the Capitol will take place February 9, 2009.
The day will be full of events starting at 9 a.m. and ending with opportunities for you to visit with your elected officials. The main event will be the Homeschool Rally at noon at the State House North Atrium.
We often find that when a bill comes up that affects homeschoolers, a legislator who knows or has meet a few homeschool families is much more likely to vote to protect the freedom that parents have to teach their children at home.
Taking time to come to the Homeschool Day at the Capitol will provide a great learning experience for you and your family, while being a vital part in protecting homeschool freedom for the future.
Please plan to show up at the Capitol on February 9! For more information on the schedule of events and other helpful information please visit: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=6036 .
If you know other Indiana homeschool friends who would be interested in coming to the Homeschool Day at the Capitol, let them know about this exciting event.
Thank you for your efforts in protecting homeschool freedom. If you are not a member of the Home School Legal Defense Association and would like to become a member you can join at http://www.hslda.org/join/join.asp .

---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances...
Most homeschools don't need an extreme makeover, but there is something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of accomplishments. Watch the media and you'll soon see that not everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good. HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators so it's obvious that we don't need someone "making-over" our homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we're fine as we are . . . thank you!
