====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== HSLDA Member Benefit: Student Contests Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: There's no lack of talent among homeschoolers, but there is sometimes a dearth of opportunities to put that creativity on display. That's why HSLDA sponsors a series of annual homeschool student contests--complete with cash prizes. At various times throughout the year, we encourage homeschoolers to submit original essays, art, poetry and photos. All finalists and winners have their work posted on HSLDA's contest website. Top art and photo entries are also displayed for public view in our Purcellville, Virginia office. There is an entry fee for each contest; HSLDA members receive a discount. Proceeds are used to support the Home School Foundation's Special Needs Children's Fund (http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=6014). HSLDA has been thrilled with the creativity and skill displayed by past contestants.
