1. Texas: Family Accused of Sending Kids to Bed Too Early

An anonymous tip about children being sent early to bed and having
access to firearms brought a social worker to one member family's
home. HSLDA helped prove that the allegations were false.

For the third time in five years, Patrick Henry College has won the
American Collegiate Moot Court Association National Championship.

3. Homeschooling Thru High School: Get Organized

This month as you begin the New Year, consider involving your teen in
home organization. Being organized is a great skill and will be
useful in whatever plans your teen may have. Suggest one of several
organization books for your teen to read and then have him or her
implement five suggestions from the book. A former homeschool mom who
is now a professional organizer recommends:

"Clutter's Last Stand" by Don Aslett (an oldie but goodie!)

"Organizing Plain and Simple" by Donna Smallin

"Organizing for Dummies" by Eileen Roth and Elizabeth Miles

"The Beverly Hills Organizer's Home Organizing Bible" by Linda
Koopersmith

This week, host Mike Farris chats with U.S. Supreme Court Justice
Clarence Thomas about his recently published memoir, "My Grandfather's
Son." Justice Thomas's memoir is an honest look at one of America's
most remarkable leaders. He recounts his life from childhood to
manhood, the impact of his grandfather's extraordinary life, as well
as early phases of his education.
