Oklahoma: Update--Partial Good News on Negative Senate Bills
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:
Thank you for all of your phone calls and emails on Senate Bill 472 and Senate Bill 308. We have had one big positive response from Senator John Ford, the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee.
Senator Ford has stated that he is opposed to both Senate Bill 472 and Senate Bill 308. Therefore, if you have not yet called Senator Ford's office, you no longer need to do so. Instead you can simply send his office an email thanking him for his opposition to these bills.
If you have not contacted the other members of the Senate Education Committee yet you may still do so.
If you are not yet a member of HSLDA and would like to help us continue to fight for homeschool freedom in Oklahoma please visit http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=5981 . Join before January 15 and receive $25 off a two-year membership or $10 a one-year membership.
If you would like to be put on our free e-mail list to receive vital e-lerts you may sign up at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=5982 .
Thank you for your part in fighting for freedom in Oklahoma! Feel free to send this to others who are supportive of home education freedom.
Sincerely,
Thomas Schmidt HSLDA Staff Attorney
---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Can you look at the clouds and tell the direction of the wind?
An interesting phenomenon of wind is that it can blow in multiple directions at the same time, at different heights from the ground. But usually there is a prevailing wind. HSLDA watches the gusts and monitors the prevailing trends of change in the legal climate of home education. So no matter which way the wind is blowing, we're there to protect your family.
