====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Vermont: New Commissioner Appointed Dear Vermont HSLDA Members and Friends: The Vermont State Board of Education has approved the selection of longtime school superintendent, principal and teacher Armando Vilaseca to be the next Department of Education Commissioner. The Commissioner of Education is an important figure to Vermont Homeschoolers because of his role in overseeing the Vermont Home Study Department, including his role in calling hearings when necessary and granting religious exemptions.
