Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: Thank you for submitting comments about the proposed changes to New Mexico's driver's license requirements--the Taxation and Revenue Department and Governor Bill Richardson received over 500 emails from you! At this time, the hearing officer is compiling your comments into a memo to present to Taxation and Revenue Department Secretary Rick Homans. After the Secretary reviews the memo, he will make a decision to either 1) move forward in the revision process without revising the regulation or 2) amend the regulation. The next deadline for filing regulations is November 17th, so although there is no formal notification process for the Secretary's decision, we should have an update in the next few weeks. Please pray that the hearing officer will clearly and accurately present our position in her memo, and that God will grant us favor with Secretary Homans as he makes his decision.
