New Jersey--Update--Homeschool Restriction Bill
A. 3123 Expected to Die a Quiet Death
Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,
Your quick and vigorous response when the New Jersey Homeschool task
force asked for phone calls against the homeschool restriction bill, A
3123, helped pave the way for members of the task force to have very
frank and helpful conversations with individual lawmakers recently.
Based on those conversations, we now believe the likelihood of the
bill moving forward in this legislature is very small. We are not
recommending you take any further action on this bill.
Since the bill has not been withdrawn, however, the member
organizations of the task force--HSLDA, Catholic Homeschoolers of New
Jersey, Eagle Forum of New Jersey, Education Network of Christian
Homeschoolers, New Jersey Homeschool Association, and the Unschoolers
Network--will continue to keep a close eye on it until the end of this
legislature.
Your efforts individually, and the teamwork you show in supporting the
organizations of the task force, are instrumental in protecting the
freedom to homeschool in New Jersey. Thank you for standing with us
for freedom!
