====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== Maine--Annual Notice and Assessment Reminder Dear HSLDA Members: This is just a reminder that if you operate under Maine's homeschool statute, your annual notice and assessment are due by September 1. Parents who have previously filed a one-time Notice of Intent should submit a letter to both their local superintendent and state commissioner of education enclosing their year-end assessment, as well as stating their intent to continue home instruction. A form for this purpose is available to HSLDA members on our website. It can be found at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=5465 . If you prefer, you can use the Maine Department of Education's "subsequent year letter" form for 2008-2009 available on their website. This form is consistent with state law, but be aware that their forms for previous years (which are still posted) are not. The Department of Education's 2008-09 subsequent year letter can be found at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=5466 . Remember to keep copies of each item until the homeschool program concludes.
