1. German Court Keeps Five Children Because Parents are Homeschoolers
A homeschooling family in Southern Germany spent six hours in a
grueling Family Court session this week with the hopes of regaining
custody of their six homeschooled children, who have been held in
state custody since January. One child was returned.

2. New York: School Drags Feet on Letter
Home School Legal Defense Association helped persuade an initially
reluctant public school district to comply with a member family's
request for a letter verifying that their son had completed a
substantially equivalent education.

3. Kentucky: Driver Permits Held up by Unauthorized Demands

Eighty-seven Generation Joshua members spent the July Fourth week at
the Generation Joshua summer camp held this year on the campus of
Patrick Henry College. These young people were immediately immersed in
the exciting world of politics--drafting and debating legislation in a
mock congress and planning and running a presidential election.
