Oregon--Your Vote Crucial in Preserving Homeschool Freedom
Dear Oregon HSLDA Members and Friends,
Primary Election day in Oregon is scheduled for May 20. Many local candidates are on the primary ballot to determine who will be voted on in the General Election this November.
Who is elected can play a big part in determining what freedoms you will keep and what freedoms you will lose.
Exercising your right to vote is crucial. The voter guides described below will help you make informed decisions as you cast your vote.
Remember, statistics show approximately only 50% of eligible adults actually register to vote. In any given election only about 50% of registered voters vote (that is 25% of adults)! In primary elections this number can even be smaller.
For most general elections that means it only takes about 13% of adults to elect any given candidate. Your vote does count!

---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Extreme makeovers are for extreme circumstances...
Most homeschools don't need an extreme makeover, but there is something to be said for attention to detail and recognition of accomplishments. Watch the media and you'll soon see that not everyone wants home educators and homeschooling to look good. HSLDA works hard to shed light on the good work of home educators so it's obvious that we don't need someone "making-over" our homeschools. Join HSLDA and help us show the world that we're fine as we are . . . thank you!
