====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== February 14, 2008 Utah: Update on Senate Bill 37; Homeschool and Equal Access Bill Passes Senate Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: The Utah Senate has passed Senate Bill 37, which requires school districts to respond within 30 days of receiving homeschooling parents' affidavits and gives homeschooled students equal access to public school sports. The bill was introduced in the House on Tuesday and was referred to the Education Committee for consideration today. HSLDA takes a neutral position on the sports access provision of Senate Bill 37, but supports passage of the bill. ACTION REQUESTED Call the House Education Committee and ask them to pass Senate Bill 37. If your name begins with a letter in the range A-E, call representatives 1-3; if it begins with F-J, call representatives 4-6; if K-O, call 7-9; if P-T, call 10-12; if U-Z, call 13-15. 1. Rep.
