====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== HSLDA 25th Anniversary: Celebrate With Us! Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: Registration is now open for HSLDA's 25th Anniversary Open House, to be held Friday, March 28, 2008 on the Patrick Henry College campus in Purcellville, Virginia. We are calling the event "Remembering the Reason, Renewing the Vision." Mike Smith and Mike Farris will reflect on God's protection of and blessing on the homeschooling movement over the past 25 years, and offer a vision for the years ahead. HSLDA staff and fellow homeschoolers from the surrounding community will be available to meet and greet. > Open House hours are 4:30-6:30 p.m. > Children are welcome > Light refreshments will be served > Families do not need to be HSLDA members to attend > There is no cost to attend In order to help us plan for the event, however, we are asking families who plan to attend to register at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4742 . For more information about HSLDA's 25th Anniversary celebration plans, visit http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4743 . HIGH SCHOOL SYMPOSIUM Earlier on March 28, our high school coordinators will present a symposium: "The Essentials for Teaching High School at Home." The symposium runs from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and will include seminars and breakout sessions on developing a high school plan and preparing for college, a career, or the military, HSLDA's Generation Joshua, and special needs. There is a fee for this event. For additional details and to register please visit http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4670 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -> Remember the last time you wrote a term paper? Research can be grueling-digging through archives, wading through articles, conducting interviews. But if it's related to homeschooling, you can relax a little. There's a good chance that you'll find what you're looking for in HSLDA's bimonthly Home School Court Report. Providing in-depth, insightful articles on much of what affects the world of homeschoolers, the Court Report is a must-read for the serious homeschooler. This publication is provided free to each HSLDA member.
