6. Pledge of Allegiance Case Raises Questions for Parental Rights

Should the rights of children supersede the rights of parents when it
comes to saying the Pledge of Allegiance? And should the decisions of
minors, which can be influenced by any number of factors within a
school setting, actually be considered superior to a parent's
prerogative to oversee the education of their child? A Palm Beach
County case raises these questions and more.

.....................................................................
7. 'Home School Heartbeat': Are Homeschoolers Retreating from Society?

A recent study indicated that homeschool graduates are more civically
involved than the general population--and it's obvious even to the
average observer that homeschoolers are having a disproportionate
impact on the world around them. The fact is, by temporarily
withdrawing their children from the distractions of traditional
school, homeschool parents are providing them with the tools they need
to effectively engage the culture when they graduate.
