~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home School Foundation Report ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home School Foundation Report Jan/Feb 2008 Friends of the Home School Foundation, With a new year upon us, the Home School Foundation is looking for ways to reach out more effectively to the homeschool community and help families in need. Please continue to keep us in prayer as we move forward to bless those homeschooling families with the greatest needs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Because You Helped This past Christmas, the Home School Foundation gave Christmas checks to homeschooling widows and single parents to help them provide a special holiday for their families. Their responses, just a few of the many we received, testify to the power of your gifts: "Wow -- you have humbled and overwhelmed us with your generous gifts! The scholarship is such a blessing and a faith builder to encourage us on our journey. The Christmas gift was unexpected and such a continued testimony of God's faithfulness in our lives. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!" -- Lori A. "Thank you so very much for your most generous gift. It couldn't have come at a better time. We just lost the children's grandfather, also to cancer, and it was just about two years exactly that their daddy died from the same. When I came back from West Virginia, your card and check were here, and I had been fretting so much over bills and how I was going to afford Christmas and I was so encouraged by your card, words, and gift. Thank you so very much." -- Mary B. "Thank you so much for your check for Christmas. You put a smile on my face and on my heart. We truly appreciate the care you've shown us these last several years. Thank again and may God continue to bless you." --Tamara B. "I have been blessed to be a recipient of a widow's fund grant through the Home School Foundation this year. I cannot describe to you how much this has meant to me and my son. All I can say is that, without the grant, we would not have been able to homeschool. Recently, I had the expense of some unexpected repairs and had been praying about how to make ends meet. Then I received another check from the Home School Foundation bearing the invoice number "Merry Christmas", and the description, "Sing for joy to God our strength. Ps 81:1a." Well, I did sing for joy and thanked God again for being my strength and my provider. I thank you for being the instrument God has used to provide these needs in 2007. I pray that God will continue to bless HSLDA and the Home School Foundation and all those who have a part in them as you meet needs of home school families." -- Susan B. Thank you to so many of you for being a part of blessing many hungry hearts! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art Contest Under Way: Deadline Approaching As you may know, the proceeds from the contests HSLDA sponsors throughout the year go to help the Home School Foundation.
