====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== January 25, 2008 New Mexico--Correction to Last E-lert Regarding Time and Place to Meet for the Annual Home School Day at the Capitol! Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, In our rush to get the news out to you as quickly as possible, we did not update the time and place for the meeting at the Capitol this year! Please note that the orientation meeting will NOT be held at 8:30 am on Thursday, February 7, but rather 9:00 am, Thursday, February 7. We will also NOT be meeting in the Main House Gallery of the Roundhouse, but rather the Orientation will be in the Finance Committee Room 307 (west side of the Rotunda, up one floor, just south of the elevator doors). At this meeting you will need to pick up your packets, name tags, and suggestions for meeting legislators, etc; there will also be a time of prayer. If you have time and are interested, please make an appointment to meet your legislators by visiting www.legis.state.nm.us. All you need to do is type in your ZIP code in the website listed above to find your legislator, and then call the capitol office secretary and ask for a brief meeting before or after the session. Remember to leave plenty of time for parking! For other parking options, check out the free legislative shuttle at http://dot.state.nm.us or for a smaller fee on parking, visit this site: www.nmparkandride.com. Otherwise, just leave time to park on the east or west side of the PERA Bldg just East of the Roundhouse. The NM Cape schedule for the week is as follows: Sunday, February 3 -- Home Education Week begins Monday, February 4-8 -- NM TeenPact at the State Land Office Thursday, February 7 -- CAPE at the Capitol 8:00 a.m. CAPE display set up in the Rotunda 9:00 a.m. Orientation in the Finance Committee Room 307 (west side of the Rotunda, up one floor, just south of the elevator doors) 11:00 a.m Home Education Week Proclamation presentation and entertainment in Rotunda 12:00 p.m. Lunch on your own! 3:00 p.m. The CAPE display comes down Friday, February 8 -- TeenPact one day session (Ages 8--12) As stated in our first e-lert, please still contact Louis and Cindy King, Capitol Day Coordinators, at 505-847-2322, or cacapitol@cape-nm.org, for more information.
