-> Can you look at the clouds and tell the direction of the wind?

An interesting phenomenon of wind is that it can blow in multiple
directions at the same time, at different heights from the ground.
But usually there is a prevailing wind. HSLDA watches the gusts
and monitors the prevailing trends of change in the legal climate
of home education. So no matter which way the wind is blowing,
we're there to protect your family.

1. Washington Times Op-ed--Extracurricular Activities on Rise

America is recognized for its "can-do spirit," an attitude whereby
people confront the challenges before them without being defeatist.
Homeschoolers have demonstrated this attitude by developing our own
extracurricular activity programs.

2. Home School Freedom Advances in the 2007 Legislative Season

The 2007 legislative season saw many victories for homeschoolers.
Without the faithful support of Home School Legal Defense Association
members and your willingness to respond to our urgent emails, the good
bills would not have passed and the bad bills would not have been
defeated.

Category 1 (students age 7-11): "What we have once enjoyed we can
never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." --Helen
Keller
Category 2 (students age 12-15): "Humility, like darkness, reveals the
heavenly lights." --Henry David Thoreau
Category 3 (students age 16-19): "A moment's insight is sometimes
