New York: Homeschool Program Not Approved A member family in New York was told that they were "not approved" to homeschool their children. Home School Legal Defense Association pointed out that the public school officials had not only misinterpreted state law, but had missed the deadline for objecting to the family's home instruction plans. Indiana: More Families Told To Enroll Many homeschool parents are being forced to fill out an online "enrollment" form by their local public school officials in order to homeschool their children. Kentucky: Demand for GED Rebuffed A homeschool graduate in Kentucky was denied the opportunity to take the Emergency Medical Service exam until HSLDA intervened on her behalf. Louisiana: CPS Tries to Review Homeschool Records A Child Protective Services caseworker ended her investigation after HSLDA helped a member family show that they were homeschooling legally. Homeschooling thru High School: Judicial Action Internships Available Judicial Action Group (JAG) is a national governmental affairs action ministry. JAG offers competitive internships to high school and college age students in its Birmingham, Alabama, office. Interns are involved in lobbying efforts, research for the attorneys, office assistance, and job shadowing the attorneys and staff. JAG is looking for serious, bright, and mature students who have an interest in law, politics, or the public sector.
