====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== November 12, 2007 Dear HSLDA Members and Friends: Thank you for your emails to the Committee Members of the Committees for Education, Science, Youth, and Sport. As a result of your diligence, each committee member received over 2000 emails, urging them to legalize homeschooling and to adopt the amendments of the Romanian Home School Association. The Romanian homeschoolers are excited about the support and hopeful that the international outcry will enable them to have the legal right to homeschool in Romania through this new federal law. Therefore, you can stop emailing these members of the Romanian Parliament at this time. Their email boxes are quite full! We will notify you in the future if there is any need to continue contacting these Committee Members, but we think this will be sufficient. Gabriel Curcubet, president of the Romanian Home Schooling Association, was able to obtain the email addresses of two undersecretaries of state. He believes it would be advantageous to their cause to send an email, or a copy of the email you sent to the Committee Members, to them. You can say: Honorable Undersecretary of State, "We respectfully urge you to consider the petition of the Romanian Home Schooling Association regarding home schooling. We ask you to include home schooling in the new educational law." You can also include a paragraph about the social and academic success of your homeschool.
