South Carolina: Homeschoolers Harassed By School District As the 2007-2008 school year got under way, HSLDA assisted member families in Berkeley County School District whose officials insisted that the families provide information about their homeschool not required by state law. Montana: Registration of Homeschool Students Sought HSLDA intervened when officials went beyond what state law requires and asked a member family to register with the local public school district. North Carolina: DNPE Seeks Meeting With Homeschool Families Recently, North Carolina state education officials sent a letter to some randomly selected homeschooling families requesting that they voluntarily meet to review school records. Patrick Henry College: New Student Film Group Enters Film Festival A film team from Patrick Henry College wrote, filmed, scored, and edited a three-minute short film for the Apple Insomnia Film Festival the second weekend of October. The film, titled "Score" and directed by PHC junior Scott York, was created in just 24 hours in accordance with Festival rules.
