Depending on their age, homeschool students' essays must expound upon the following: > Category 1 (ages 7-11): If there was one person in the world you could help, who would it be, why would you help them, and how would you help them? > Category 2 (ages 12-15): If you could choose to make a small difference in the world at large or a big difference in one person's life, which would you choose and why? > Category 3 (ages 16-19): Describe an admirable quality or admirable position of a person with whom you largely disagree. Special Needs Snippet: Think Long Term The Lord Jesus Christ allowed Simon Peter to fail (when he denied knowing Him), because He foresaw Peter's greater usefulness after he had learned from that failure. Compare that particular strategy of our Lord to the method of a "Rescue 911" parent who will not, in specific instances, permit a child to fail and have the opportunity to grow and develop as a result of those "failures." The book of Proverbs speaks to this subject, and James 1:5-8 promises that wisdom from the Lord is available for the asking.
