Maryland: New Homeschool Student Drivers Face Extra Red Tape All students under age 16, including homeschool students, now have an additional hoop to jump through to get a learner's driver permit--but it could have been worse. Alabama: State Superintendent Amends Reporting Memorandum In the absence of any statutory authority to the contrary, HSLDA continues to maintain that Alabama law does not require church schools to complete any portion of the Annual Report of Non-Public Schools. Arkansas: Bills Fail in Legislature A bill that would have increased restrictions on who may homeschool their children failed to pass in the legislature this year. Alaska: Compulsory Attendance Age Bill Fails Alaska's model homeschool law remained intact when a Senate bill that would have raised the upper age limit of compulsory school attendance failed.
