====================================================================== From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ====================================================================== HSLDA--You're Invited to Second CAP Training Day Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, We have a date for our CAP training and preparation day! It will be Monday, December 10, starting at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served around noon, and then we will wrap up by 3:30. We will meet at Patrick Henry College's Town Hall in Purcellville, Virginia. Our goals for the day include having current CAP members share some of their lobbying experiences and tips for what worked (and what did not), and having speakers address some of the issues we will discuss with congressional legislators and staffers. We will also prepare you for our second CAP on the Hill lobbying day in Washington, D.C., scheduled for January, 2008. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU 1) Every family who is a member of HSLDA and who completes or has completed the CAP application form at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4396 is qualified to attend this event. 2) Please let us know by Thursday, December 6, if you can attend this event and how many people will be coming with you. You will not be penalized if an unforeseen event forces you to cancel at the last moment, but we hope that you will all be able to make it! You are welcome to attend the training session even if you are not sure that you will be able to attend the CAP on the Hill lobbying day in January. Please email CAP@hslda.org to RSVP. 3) This is a great time to invite friends to get involved in CAP lobbying. They will need to fill out a CAP registration form at http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4396 . COST There is no cost for this event if you paid at our first CAP training day in March, 2007. If this will be your first CAP training day, then there is a cost of $15 per family to cover lunch expenses.
