HSLDA--Member Discount for PHC Distance Learning

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

Patrick Henry College continues to expand its Distance Learning
program through the addition of Dr. Robert Spinney as Director of
Distance Learning and Daniel Burns as Admissions Counselor. HSLDA
member families receive a 5% tuition discount. Classes are open to
high school students ages 16 and over who are looking to get an early
start on college, college students pursuing a degree, and adults
interested in personal development.

There are many advantages to taking college classes from PHC through
distance learning. Here are a few ways you can benefit:

1. Gain experience with academically rigorous classes. Our distance
learning courses are as challenging as our on-campus courses. You will
learn the subject matter well--and learn how a biblical worldview
undergirds and informs our understanding of every subject. The
experience will serve you well wherever you go after high school.

2. Make yourself a stronger candidate for admission. If you intend to
apply for admission to Patrick Henry College, we strongly recommend
taking distance learning courses in high school. The Admissions Review
Committee looks very favorably on students who have a demonstrated
track record of success in PHC classes!

3. Avoid the secular perspective of humanities classes at other
institutions. Students intending to major in fields PHC doesn't offer
can benefit from our core liberal arts curriculum by transferring
credits to another institution. You would want to make sure the
credits will transfer to the specific school(s) you are considering,
but many students find it invaluable to learn philosophy, history, and
literature from a Christian perspective.

4. Save money. Distance learning is significantly cheaper than
on-campus tuition. Many families find that our Distance Learning
program makes college much more affordable.

All classes still have some openings for the upcoming fall semester,
which begins August 20, but apply soon to ensure your place. The class
list and application are available at
