Georgia--Declaration of Intent Deadline
Dear Georgia Members:
For those of you planning to comply with Georgia's homeschool law for
the 2007-2008 school year, we are providing the following information
by way of reminder.
Parents or guardians desiring to conduct a home study program for
their children must submit a declaration of intent to the
superintendent of their local school district by September 1. Forms
for this purpose may be obtained from your local school district,
although you do not have to use the school district's form. You may
use the form we have developed for our HSLDA members families by going
to http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=4284 .
Please note that HSLDA will defend any member family whose right to
teach their children at home is challenged by the state--even if their
religious convictions prohibit them from complying with the state
homeschool law. The information in this email is provided to those
who intend to comply with state law and to assist you in meeting the
statutory deadline.
